Beware of certain affiliate programs!!!
56Over the past few years, I've been having to do a whole lot of
research for promoting websites that I am affiliated with. I done
lots of research to submit my link in many different places to get
traffic to my web site.
The first one I promoted was for a place called Stuff a Friend.
Well it was doing so well, that the company told me that I could
no longer use my link and it started going to someone else
that was part owner in the company. They told me I had to
use a different link. So, I left that company to go somewhere
else. After I left, I would enter that old link every so often so
see what was up with that company. They merged with some
other company and has something to do with Noah's Ark Workshop...
It's kind of like a "Build a Bear Workshop" thing.
When you're looking to get affiliated with someone, be sure
they don't do you this way. I had spent lots of time and lots
of nights working on that and they took it away from me. I, at
the time, was a single mother of 4 smaller children, no income,
no job and they jerked what was rightfully ours away from us.
Now this same company is also expanding it's product line to
licensed plush characters and limited edition items.
To me, it's a shame that a company can run itself that way.
They use an affiliate to bring in more traffic and business
to their website. Then they turn around, after 4 months of the
person's time and being sleep deprived, tell them that the link
that they were given in the very beginning, they can no longer
use!
The whole time I had been affiliated with that company, I kept
track of all of the traffic that was going in and out of the site.
The traffic was outstanding, so the sales had to be as well.
I never got a check, just thrown onto something else and
they collected the money!
For those of you that think about affiliating with anyone,
check into the company before you do. Do your homework
and research every knick, whole and scam that has been
reported regarding that company!
Don't let an affiliate company take you like that one did me.
My children & I absolutely needed that money. We needed
that job! They took my sleep time, my patience, my time in
general, my trust & my honest belief that I was finally able to
do something on my own and not have to worry about what
I was able to actually do and what limits I could go!
